The Junkluggers of Greater San Jose Case Studies: Garage Cleanout Services in Los Gatos, CA
A professional organizer reached out for an urgent job that she was working for a client who was moving back from overseas. Our crew member fell sick and we went to evaluate the items. Most of the visible cardboard boxes were on the driveway. However, additional items were located in the garage. Our client informed us that neighbors have not been happy due to the pile of junk visible on the driveway and would appreciate it if that can be cleared in the next 2-3 days. Despite the shortage in the crew, we informed the client we will try to wrap it before Saturday as this is 2-3 full truck loads job.
We were able to acquire additional help and started working early morning on the 24th of December. Our goal was to get rid of all the junk before Christmas eve. We first moved all the furniture from the garage to the driveway. We flatten most of the cardboard boxes and sorted the items from donations, recycle and junk. We first loaded a full truck with a bed, desk and other furniture and filled the remaining space with cardboard.
We went to the recycling center and dropped off all the cardboard and removed foam that is not recyclable. We offloaded the donatable items into our storage to be dropped off later as the donation center was not accepting furniture on the weekend. We then went back to the customer location, loaded all the other items that are recyclable and pure waste to be disposed of to the transfer station.
Our crew broomed the driveway and power washed it and it looked neat. We took some pictures and captured video footage upon leaving the job. We were able to drop off a bed, computer desk to our charity partner and sent the donation receipt to our client. Our client who is a professional organizer was amazed that we were able to clear up the driveway before Christmas even and it would make the neighbors happy.
The best part of the job was that we were able to recycle and donate most of the items in few hours.
